Crawler's Companion User Data

Campaign Data Tools

Create Campaign

Entering data on mobile devices can be a frustrating experience. The forms below allow you to easily create campaign data files to remotely store both the combat stats for the various encounters your players will meet, along with the basic combat data for the player characters themselves. This data can then be accessed and stored automatically within the Crawler's Companion!

The data you enter will be stored in a file within a community folder on this server. Since the filename will be based on the campaign name you choose, you'll need to follow these guidelines:

You can create as many uniquely named campaigns as you wish, switching between them in the Crawler by simply entering the new campaign name and hitting refresh!

Important Note: It's a good idea to create and save all your encounter and party data using a text editor on your computer, and then paste the information into these forms. Thus, if the form submission should fail, or if the remote files on this server should somehow be overwritten or deleted accidentally, restoring your encounter and party data is as simple as an additional cut and paste operation.

Once you have submitted the information, you can use the Update Forms to update the campaign data whenever you need to delete encounters, add new ones, or update the party info.

(For more help, you can also watch tutorial videos about the campaign management tools).

Campaign Name:

The first step is to create an unique campaign name. Remember to write it down as you will have to enter it into the Crawler's Companion to access your data.

Encounter Data:

Now in the text box below, type/paste the combat data for the encounters your players will likely face in an upcoming session. Encounters from many published adventures can be found here to copy and paste. Each encounter begins with an '#' character followed by the title. Then list your foes, one to a line, with the following info: name, init bonus, current HP, max HP (optional), foe count (optional). Finally, end each encounter with a blank line. A complete encounter will look like the following detailing Gronger, his injured second in command Blippy, and their band of evil gnome ruffians:

#Fearsome Bandits
Grongar the Mighty,2,5
Blippy the Bleed,1,3,5
Gnome Thug,1,3,3,8

#Next Encounter

Notice that we didn't include a max HP for Grongar. The script will automatically set the max HP to the value of the current HP if it's not included. Blippy comes into the battle damaged. His current HP is 3, but his max is five: good to know in case he's healed during the battle. Also, even though the Gnome Thugs have the same current and max HP, we have to include the max HP value so the script will properly interpret the foe count value (8) for what it is. Also when adding multiple foes like the gnome thugs, name them in singular fashion: the script adds numbers after each multiple foe, and gnome thug 1 looks much nicer than gnome thugs 1!

Party Data:

Now, enter your party data just like your encounter data: each party name begins with the '#' character, followed by the party members and a blank line. (Foe count values obviously don't make sense for PC's and will be ignored):

#Murder Hobos
Happy Nick,1,7
Blister-Face Fotheringay,1,2,4
The Pearl of Distant Lands,1,7
Nugs,1,3

#Next Party
...

Player Names

To streamline sending messages using the Crawler, simply enter the names of each player in the box below, one on each line. The names will be used to fill a dropdown box on the message interface, saving some typing on your mobile device. (You can always just type a name in the box if it's not on the list).

Finally, as a simple form of password protection to foil web bots, enter 'PSG' (without quotes) in the box below.
